First, you should know that gran canaria is very hot in summer, but quite warm in winter, there is never snow unless in the top mountain, sometime rain in winter but not so much, compare with other island in Canary island Gran Canary still bit better if we compare for the weather.
My advice, never go to Gran Canary on June and July, unless you would like to get big discount. June - July is hot-est month in Gran Canary and so dry, windy and dusty, OK, sometime if you are lucky you can get good weather, but generally in that time GC is not comfort to stay. October till March is best time, warm and still sunny while in Europe frozen. But most hotel charge extra for that high season.
Th good thing is, you can swim in the beach any time, because the beach are calm and warm.
